Dr Grant Bourhill spent 8 years at Sharp Corporation where he was responsible for new technology introduction and business development, helping to bring a number of new-to-the-world products to the global marketplace including no-glasses 3D mobile phones and automotive dual-view displays. After Sharp, he spent ten years working on energy innovation, predominantly with the Energy Technologies Institute, a private-public partnership investing in, and developing, new clean energy technologies. Grant grew the stand-alone capability and ultimately transferred the Programme and capability into the Energy Systems Catapult. He spent two years at the Catapult as Chief Operating Officer and Head of International Energy Innovation, where a number of new global partnerships were created. Grant joined the University of Leicester in April 2018 to help the University and partners achieve an exciting vision for the future by developing vibrant sector-specific science parks, building on the University’s strengths in Space and Life Science.
