Prior to taking up the role as a SPRINT Innovation Adviser to work in the Space and Satellite Applications related sector, Frances was part of the Corporate Partnerships Team at the University of Southampton, connecting companies to researchers with the right expertise and facilities to speed up the commercialisation of new technologies.

Before that, Frances was an Interdisciplinary Research Coordinator and developed a wide network of researchers in fields such as Autonomous Systems, Energy and Climate Change, Population Health and Systems Monitoring.

Frances is an English and Philosophy graduate from Nottingham University and, after gaining a Certificate in Education at Oxford University, worked for a number of years as a lecturer at a college of Further Education in Derby.
