New programme to open up space industry

NEWS: New Business Horizons programme launched for new space start-ups and growing space companies

A new business acceleration programme for fast growth in the UK space economy is now open for registrations and applications from entrepreneurs. The programme is run by the University of Strathclyde, along with entrepreneurial growth expert, Entrepreneurial Spark, on behalf of the UK Space Agency

This world-class programme is uniquely designed to support new space start-ups and growing space companies to shape their products and services around the demands of the new space race, so that they can grow their business in this dynamic industry.

Ross Burgon, Head of the national SPRINT business support programme said: “The UK space industry has enormous potential for growth and this new programme will help a new generation of entrepreneurs and businesses to realise the opportunities that space presents to them.”

There are two ways to get involved. The Business Horizons programme is a series of eight events during March and April, covering diverse topics from building innovative business models and looking at industry developments and future forecasting, to entrepreneurial mindset and behaviours.

Benefits of Business Horizons include:

• A pre-event toolkit that you can apply directly to your own business
• Topic insight and Q&A with subject matter experts
• Live acceleration – a business will be chosen in advance and the theory of the session will be interactively applied to them
• Follow-up peer networking events to help you take action

30 high-growth and high potential businesses will also be selected for the application-only Leo Programme – a more bespoke, one-to-one accelerator programme.

• A focus on building competitive, productive, sustainable business models
• Intensively entrepreneurial mindset and behaviours workshops
• 1:1 access to a range of academics and industry specialists
